Dear Visitors,

Prepared by Gulberenk Values Education Association, the Before Sleep Program continues with all its excitement on the internet. This evening we talked about taking advantage of our time. Doing the same things all the time is called “Monotony”. Moreover, when we do the same things, we would feel tired and unhappy, as if we have been carrying tons of weight. Even if the job we do is the best job, we can get bored when it becomes monotonous.

For example, reading the Holy Qur’an and performing prayers are nice and useful things; however, if we do the same job for hours in a row without a break, we will get tired and bored. For that reason, our Almighty Allah says in the 7th Verse of Insirah Surah, “When you get tired of a job, start another job!”.

As you will understand, we have to plan and schedule our time well. If we do this, we could devote time to many things during the day, not just one job. Moreover, if we plan our day, we can spend it much more efficiently. Despite being twenty-four hours, many people complain that a day so time is not enough for them. However, these situations would not have happened if they planned their time. When a person can not plan her/his time and gets late, she/he would not be able to do what she/he should have done at that time. For example, it is nice to call our mother and father; however, if we call them in the middle of the night, they will be anxious, and they will be afraid instead of being happy. That is to say, everything has its time and method.

While planning our time, we should definitely include our prayers. If we perform our prayers when the adhan is recited, and if we do other things in the rest of the time, we will spend our day in a good way and be at peace. It turns out that if we are always busy with worldly affairs and do not perform our prayers, we will be bored with heedlessness. Just as a non-burning stove cannot give heat to the outside; people with an uneasy heart cannot give peace to those around them. That is, what a person is filled with, will be reflected to the outside.

If a person is keeping the orders of Allah and avoiding the things she/he is forbidden, she/he will also be filled with peace. Moreover, this person will start to add joy and beauty to her/his surroundings. Gulberenk Children were not only busy with worldly affairs, but also performed the five daily prayers. In addition, they always add beauty and peace to their surroundings.

Thereupon, all together we prayed, “May Allah make all of us servants who feel peace and joy when looked at, spend their time well, and get on well with the Creator!”.

In our program today, we listened to the songs “Morality” and “Tea in the Pot, Human in Service!”. No no, we did not say farewell! We were determined to put what we learned into our lives. And we went to our beds with beautiful prayers.
