Dear Precious Members,

Recently we left behind one of our Educational Children’s Programs, which was a joint program realized by both Gulberenk Values Education Association and Golden Child Magazine. We all learned together in the “Sakine Hanim Program” that there were ways to defeat anger. Our dear Prophet Muhammad Mustafa sallallahu aleyhi wa sallim recommends us to narrate the Bismillah when one gets angry. Of course this is not everything! To get rid of anger one may decide to stay silent, take ablution, sitting down if you are on your feet, lying down if you are already seated. Especially if you end this ritüel with two rak’ahs of prayer, the anger for sure will get away!

Anger is like a thorn. This thorn would hurt who gets close to it. It is grumpy and naughty. It pisses off who follows it. It is like sharp vinegar. It mostly hurts its own cube. It is brutal and cruel. It spoils the taste who becomes its prisoner. Besides, anger we believe comes from the Devil. It should be fired when it abruptly visits you! If we do not kick anger away, we probably would get out of our minds. So we should stand strong and stand in the way of such anger and be peaceful and calm. However, it is not that easy to achieve this.

We should not listen to the bad voice within us, we should abide by the advice of our beloved Prophet Muhammad Mustafa, like watching the nature and the sky and so try to relax. When we learned all this, we understood that if anger is such a weary thing, it is as bad as to anger someone! So we should not do things that might make people angry. We must not upset our mother, father, siblings and teachers.

You see, this month we had a very useful program. With hundreds of enthusiastic audiences you should have heard us singing the song, “You must, you must, you must control your anger!”. A ceremony was held in the program. Thirteen students who were successful in the National Anthem Memorization Competition organized by the Kadriye Mehmet Koparan Primary School teacher Miyase Cansu Bilgic received their awards from Gulberenk! And our three successors were awarded with a lovely plaque. Two of our audience members, who we interviewed, expressed their feelings as follows:

My name is Zeynep TUFEKCI. I am seven years old. Mostly I liked Hacivat with Karagoz. I learned whatever they said.
My name is Ismail CELIKKANAT. I am nine years old. I was mostly impressed by the torn project of the child and his being kind to this. In this program I learned that I had to be calm and defeat my anger.

We would like to congratulate our thirteen friends and teachers who have received the award because they memorized our national anthem representing the dignity and liberty of our homeland and wish to be together with them to in the Hafiz Efendi Program! With Love!
