Dear Guests,

Gulberenk Educational Children’s Programs, taking place each month’s last Sunday, continue to be staged at Dr. Dursun Aksoy Culture Center in Izmir. In January we said, “Maybe it’s not as you assume!” and we focused on the importance of good thought, and assumptions built on real information, namely we elaborated on wishful thinking. And our program started again just on time!

It appears that some of our thoughts are not based on logical and precise sources, which we conceptualize as wishful thinking, this than may lead us to wrong assumptions and so we may mislead others and ourselves. There are two ways of assuming something; the one is “assumptions based on precise sources”, and the other is “assumptions grounded on superficial thoughts”. Thereby, when we are asked about something on which we have no knowledge, then, the best way is to specify that to the asking person and never comment on it. Thus, it is wrong to make up assumptions about people and comment on their behaviours with no in-depth knowledge. However, we witness that people either take their assumptions as reality or judge someone with very little sources in hand. All this is wrong. As our beloved Prophet Muhammad Mustafa sallallâhu aleyhi wasallam, warns us, “Beware of too much baseless assumptions!”.

Gulberenk Izmir team finished its sixth program. After the program filled with enthusiasm, we all left for our homes to meet again in February.

We would like to thank everyone who contributed to the preparation of the program, especially Mrs. Betul Sengul and her team!
