Tonight we realized the Before Sleep Program with joy and gratitude and we learned a myriad new things! It turns out that everything starts somewhere and ends. A notebook, pencil, an eraser… Sleep, food, bread… Reading the Qur’an, prayers, fasting, rituels… Songs, movies, books… Seasons, years, months, weeks, days… Hours, minutes, seconds…

Actually everything has been like this. But sometimes, it appears that boring, difficult and sad situations will never end, while entertaining and joyful occasions seem to be over very quickly. Time never passes when a person is with someone he/she does not love, and time feels like it goes by very quickly when meeting someone she/he loves very much. Likewise everything ends, life will also end one day and everyone will migrate to their real homeland, the afterlife. If we abide by what Allah has commanded and avoid what is forbidden, and follow the Sunnah of our Prophet, we will go to heaven for sure.

Our beloved Prophet Hz. Muhammed Mustafa sallallahu alayhi wa sallam once said: “Work for worldly matters as if you will never die, but also work for the afterlife as if you will die tomorrow! (Camiu’s-Sagir, 12) “. It was not right to disregard the afterlife and to deal with worldly affairs all the time, or not to be engaged in worldly affairs by worshiping all the time. The best thing is being balanced. To put it in the simplest way, we should bake even one cake in order to gain the consent of Allah, to contemplate the blessings Allah has given, to give it to someone who is hungry and to receive a charity reward. Thus, the cake can also be a cause that might present us heaven in return.

In summary, the world is something that has a beginning and an end. On the contrary, the afterlife will begin and never end. Man’s life could end when being a baby, young or old. For this reason, it is necessary to spend life in the world by working to earn the Paradise in the so called afterlife.

When we learned about these things, we decided to live in the most beautiful and balanced way! We intended to do very good deeds and accumulate the wealth of this afterlife!

Then we opened our hands and prayed to our Almighty Allah, as follows: “Our Beloved Allah! Allow us to complete our life, which has started, in accordance with your consent, and let us consider this world as a good preparation place for the life of the hereafter.” Amiiin!
