Dear Visitors,

Gulberenk Values Education Association continues with its Before Sleep Programs with great enthusiasm and motivation! In our program tonight we all said, “Tea Brews in The TeaPot, People Mature in Service!”. We contemplated on the song named the same way.

As it turns out, tea must wait for a while in boiled water to brew well, and so it was necessary for a person to endure some difficulties in order to mature. Wanting to have something without working, getting tired and patient was in vain. To ask for paradise without showing patience and determination in praying five times a day, without disciplining ourselves and correcting our morals, was one of the futile expectations in life.

We could not swallow even a small bite without chewing. Without limbs such as mouth, teeth, tongue, jaw, salivary gland, pharynx, stomach and intestines, we could not bring them to digestible maturity. While thinking about these, we also listened to the “Unity Anthem”! Some of its words were as follows:

“In the pot called Earth, with the bucket of affection, we got stirred with rice, wheat, beans.

It has a healing taste, do you know what its name is? Ashura!

We are one, we are a whole, we get cooked while cooking.

We stand upright for the truth, we will not crush, we will not be crushed!”

Then we realized that chickpeas, wheat and beans had to be cooked even before getting mixed and turn into ashura! We understood that it is not even possible to be ashura without suffering. The life of the world, a place of play and entertainment with challenging tests, is a field of struggle between good and evil, righthood and falsehood. Here, wolves attack even an apple trying to mature on its own on the branch of the tree, creating many obstacles for people trying to do good work. To attain blessings only; it is possible by enduring difficulties. As Muslims, we should stay away from all kinds of evil inculcated by the nafs and devil, such as laziness, rebellion, and ingratitude. We must meticulously obey the orders and prohibitions of our Almighty Creator.

Thus, today, with the excitement of learning valuable knowledge, we opened our hands and prayed as follows: “My Allah! Cure the sick, heal the sick and grant the debtors! Offer the love of your dear who seek for his love, Hz. Muhammad Mustafa sallallahu! Those who try to be good sons/daughters to your friends, triumph on this road! Benefit us by performing the five daily prayers in awe! Amen!”.

Then we went to our beds hoping to meet again on Friday evening. After reading the chapters of Ihlas, Falaq and Nas, we turned to our right and slept peacefully.
