Dear Visitors,

Prepared by the Gulberenk Values Education Association, the Before Sleep Program continues on the internet with all its excitement. This evening, we learned valuable knowledge from each other again. It turned out that each job had its own difficulties and hardship. One might not be able to attain mercy without pain. For example, bread has to be put into a hot oven to be baked, chickpeas have to be boiled in boiling water, and meat has to be cooked on the fire to get rid of its rawness. As you can see, there is no easy thing. If we want to be truly mature people, we have to be patient with difficulties and troubles. If a person is at mercy without enduring trouble, he or she would not be able to appreciate it. Because what we have achieved through difficulty, struggle and troublesome would be more valuable.

Previously, it was not easy to buy and reach things we wanted. For example, our grandmothers would take off the old socks, tie the strings together and knit new socks for themselves. At that time, colorful threads were not sold, even if they were sold, not everyone could buy them. Because there were wars and people were poor. Some of those peoples lost their homes, some their children or their husbands… You see, they barely saved their lives. For this reason, many things that we do not value nowadays were very valuable for people who did not own them in the past.

We thought… When we get very hungry, we can taste the soup better, then we know the value of the blessings better. Real gratitude is not achieved without pain, difficulty and poverty. If seeds do not accept to stand under the darkness, they would not be able to attain light and get green. The farmers would not be able to buy crops if they do not care for the plants every day, water them and clean the harmful herbs. It turns out that the value of wheat, cherries, parsley, pears and walnuts would be known by those who work hard to grow them. Those who work hard for us are our mothers, fathers and teachers. Therefore, they know our value better.

“Oh Allah, make us one of the auspicious ones that make people smile and so are a means of joy! Let us relieve the fatigue of those who are tired for the sake of us! Let us be the mediator of the two world joys of our mother, father, teacher and all the people who have worked for us!”. We prayed and thus ended our program.

No no, we did not say goodbye! We went to our beds with the hope and prayer of being able to be together again in the Before Sleep Program tomorrow.
