Dear Visitors,

On the first day of the week, we started our Before Sleep Program with the song, “If It Eats, Let It Stay”. All together we sang, “If it eats from our time, our health, our dignity… our faith, our integrity, our will… If it is harmful to our world and the hereafter, if it is contrary to the holy verses and sunnahs… If it is haram, if it is adultery, if it is suspicious, keep it away!”.

It turns out that sometimes there could be people acting like microbes and viruses around us, and they could harm us. Moreover, they might steal the happiness and peace of others; they may want to devour our energy and joy. Parasite is an organism that can live dependent on a living thing and cause harm to the creature it lives on. Just like these parasites, there can be also lazy people who like to live off someone’s back. Everyone should know their own profession and be a means of mercy for each other’s life.

We are not parasites, we must be the people who lighten the burden of others. We should not let anyone waste our opportunities, time and strength. In addition, we should stay away from everything that will harm our world and the hereafter (after life). If we live here clean and properly, if we make good use of our time, if we do not burden anyone, and if we follow the orders of Allah well, we will have attained the hereafter. If we are people of conviction, consent and gratitude, if we get along with our companions and help them, if we do not defeat anyone’s rights, but instead pray and make our hearts happy, the world will become a road to the hereafter for us.

All together we thought, “Will there be heaven at the end of our path, or is it hell?”. In this regard, our beloved Prophet once said: “You die as you live, you will be resurrected the same way you die!” (Munavi, Feyz-ul-Kadir, V, 663). As you can understand, if we want our end to be Paradise, we must fill our way with deeds that will lead us to heaven. In order to be gifted with the Paradise, one must pay the price. His/her price, on the other hand, is to sacrifice and live in accordance with Allah’s orders and prohibitions in order to gain the approval. For this reason, we have to do things absolutely right. Allah has given everyone a different life by keeping some of Hisservants’ path to the world short and others long. Moreover, nobody knows when their time would end. To avoid regret, we should fill our lives with good deeds and not postpone them.

Here we are than once again… Tonight, we both learned and contemplated some beautiful knowledge. And we went to our beds praying, “O Allah! Fill our paths with joy, kindness and beauty and do away from everything you do not like!”.
