Dear Distinguished Members,

The Gulberenk Educational Children’s Program, which is an organization arranged by Gulberenk Values Education Association, has finally started to be staged enthusiastically in Adana! In our May program entitled, “Squash Blossom” we asked ourselves, “Which flower on the branch are you?”. That is, each flower is known for its unique color, smell and structure. We could recognize a squash blossom and its flower by realizing the squash on it. Nobody would look at a rose and right away would think about a pumpkin. Nobody expects to pick pears from the branches of an eggplant. No rose would blossom from an oleander branch. There would not be any apples on the pine branches. Beans can not be picked up on the vineyard.

Very much like this sample, there is no such thing that evil will grow on the branch of goodness, there would not be any lies growing on the branches of righteousness. Likewise, one would not find superstitions on the braches of Godly authority, and no fruit of suspicion will grow on the yard of faith.

When we learned these things, we asked ourselves over and over again: Which branch are you? Which flower? Are you pale or fresh? Did you keep your color, your smell, your taste? Which vineyard are you? Are you rotten or fresh? Have you been able to preserve your color, your taste, your essence? What is your condition at the moment?

Thereby, we believe Gulberenk children are the flowers of the Islamic branch. Gulberenk children are the fruit of the faith yard. Then every Gulberenk child should account for him or herself and think: “What do I remind those who look at me while the squash blossom reminds them of the zucchini (squash)? Do I somehow become a healthy Islamic flower? What about my external condition, my outfit, my speeches, my respect for my elders, my compassion for my little ones? Do I practise my prayers in a beautiful way? Do I keep fasting regularly in a good way?

Not even merely the pumpkin, even the pumpkin flower has a lot of benefits. What about me? Am I useful? Am I useful towards human beings, animals, even stones and the soil? The pumpkin is known to be among one of the favorite vegetables of our beloved Prophet Muhammad Mustafa (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam). Can I love the pumpkin because he loved it too?

As you will see, likewise in various Gulberenk programs, we have contemplated through this program a lot. We also smiled a lot. Thus, in Adana we succesfully completed our first Educational Children’s Program with great enthusiasm! When we grow up as Gulberenk Children, we all will become Gülberenk Bees and we will organize and take the responsibility of such healing programs, won’t we? Keep watching, thinking, catching up until the time comes! Well, too much talk, I guess we have had enough for this month! 🙂
