Gulberenk Educational Children’s Programs, which were prepared with the collaboration of Gulberenk Values Education Association and Golden Child Magazine, opened its 2016- 2017 period. Through our program themed “Ladybug”, we discussed on subjects like hope, effort and joy. Thus we learned that hope is a fundamental feeling that creates effort. A person who has hope would take the pains and get succesful, and with succes will feel happiness. In fact, the one who is happy can make others happy too.
A Muslim child expresses her/his gratitude while considering the blessings of Allah, and does not neglect to work, instead of waiting for others, she/he will try to satisfy her/his own needs her/himself. It was very important not to make others carry your burden and, instead, be the one that eases the load.
To be able to produce solutions for the problems faced, it is necessary to use your intelligence and heart as well. For example, when we need a bike, or when we want to please a needy, we can save money by selling our excessive toys or books that we do not read anymore.
One must be “the giving hand” instead of being the one that always takes, and never forget that Allah is in truth always the giver and taker.
To be hopeful is the best medicine. Hopelessness is in a way like the dust that messes up the heart. Self-devotion walks along with affection. With self-devotion generosity comes to the light. Gulberenk Songs were like very nice assistants that helped us understand these concepts correctly.
In our September program, also educators from Kayseri, Corum, Samsun, Biga and Bandirma took part. Many children from different parts of Istanbul attended the program, which was realized with joyous and very happy moments. There were also a great many Syrian children in our program.
Ayse Erva Sarikaya was the winner of this month’s design competition with her cheerful billboard with the Gulberenk logo on it!
As we left, hoping to meet one month later, we were all more determinant to do more goodness. We felt the beauty of becoming happy persons that also make others happy.
