Dear Guests,

Gulberenk Educational Children’s Programs, taking place on the last Sunday of each month, continue to take the stage in Dr. Dursun Aksoy Culture Center, Izmir. The subject of the program was “flap-eared”, and we said, “The Real Flap-Eared Is The Too Nosy”.

The flap-eared is a term used for the ones who have broad and loose ears. Allah, who shaped our organs like the eyes, ears, nose and others as he wish, has created some people’s ears somehwhat bigger. Hereby, our responsibility is to accept his creation, be thankful and not to mock anybody. The one who mocks the painting mocks the painter. The one who finds faults in a piece of art, finds the flaws of the artist. The one who does not appreciate the creation, does not appreciate the will/design of the Creator. However, Gulberenk children are contented with what they have. Therefore, they respects and cherish the blessings of Allah.

In fact, real flap-eareds are the ones who are too nosy and secretly listen to voices and conversations. Our Almighty Allah in order to prevent us from mistakenly witnessing a vision or hearing a Word that does not relate to us, he says:

“O you believers! Do not enter a house without the owner’s permission and without greeting the owner. Be thoughtful, this is the best for you” (Surah al-Noor- 27)

Those who secretly listen to voices (conversations) do something that is forbidden by Allah and Prophet Muhammed. Besides they also misuse the ears and sense of hearing which are all blessings of Allah. Moreover, this also leads to misunderstandings and the exhaustion of the soul, brain and heart. However, as the Prophet Muhammad Mustafa sallallâhu aleyhi wasallam says, “To distance yourself from something which is none of your bussiness makes you a good muslim” (Tirmizi, Zuhd 11).

When we learned these things, we prayed a lot and said, “Oh Allah please let us hear and listen to voices that would benefit our belief, life and afterlife. Amen”. Gulberenk Izmir team left behind its tenth program. We did not say farewell as we left for our homes to meet again next month. We would like to thank everyone who contributed to the preparation of the program, especially Mrs. Betul Sengul and her team!
