Gulberenk Educational Children’s Programs, one of the dozens programs organized by Gulberenk Values Education Association, took the stage with a new one. The new program’s subject was on Flap-Eareds, and we said “The Real flap-eared is the too nosy”. Thus, the concept “flap-eared” is used for people who have very big and broad ears. Allah has created everyone in different shapes with different shaped ears, noses, eyes…etc. Allah has created some of his creatures with big ears. Thereupon, we are supposed to be thankful and grateful for what we have and never mock others. The one who mocks the painting, authomatically, mocks the painter. The one that belittles the piece of art, also belittles the artist. The one does not appreciate the creation, does not appreciate the Creator. However, Gulberenk children are thankful with what they have, they respect ad cherish what Allah has given them.
In fatc, the real flap-eareds are the ones who secretly give an ear to voices and conversations which they should not be doing. Allah to warn us and prohibit us from witnessing scenes we are not supposed see says, “Oh Believers, do not enter houses of others without permission and without greeting the owners. Be thoughtful, this is the best for you” (Surah al-Noor- 27). The ones who listen to conversation that are none of their business are doing something forbidden by Allah and his beloved Prophet. These ones misuse the ear and the sense of hearing, exhaust their hearts, brains and soul. Moreover, these ones earn a tendency to misunderstandings and bad assumptions. As the Prophet Muhammad Mustafa sallallâhu aleyhi wassallam pinpoints, “To distance yourself from a thing that is none of your business, means that you are a good Muslim” (Tirmizi, Zuhd 11).
When we learned all these things, we prayed a lot and said, “Oh Allah! Please let us be the ones that listen to whatever is beneficial for our current lives and afterlife. Amen”. This month 50 of our young ladies have won the Gulberenk’s Lady Special Award in our ceremony. Because these ladies have worn properly and have been on time to their programs like Allah and his Beloved Prophet would love to see. In the program, there were twenty-one educators from Nevsehir, Adana, Ankara, Zonguldak, Kutahya and Konya who were there to train. We loved them a lot. We gained fresh new knowledge, valuable good manners and strong intentions, and said goodbye. At Gulberenk one does not remember values but experiences and lives them, and Gulberenk children never stay still, they are always on the road.
