Gulberenk Educational Children Program, organized by Gulberenk Values Education Association, took to the stage on June with the theme “Goodwill”. Goodwill refers to the possession of good and nice feelings towards everything and everyone. To have good intentions is among the foremost features of a Muslim. Our dearest Prophet Muhammed sallallâhu aleyhi wa sallam once said:
One’s deeds are taken into account according to her/his intentions. Everyone will be given a response according to her/his intention. If one is not able to fulfill a goodwill but at least intended, Allah will accept it as a perfect deed. If one intends to do good and fulfills it, Allah will accept it as done for hundred times or even seven hundred times. If one intends to do evil but resigns, Allah will again accept it as a good deed. Lastly, whoever intends to do evil and commits it, Allah will save it as just “one” sin. (Bukhari, Rikak 31)
The intention of a deed is much more important that its outcome. Goodwill has many benefits both in our current life and the afterlife. Allah loves his believers with goodwill and makes others love him/her too. A person with goodwill is like a Spring flower whose presence give serenity. Goodwill, however, is good if combined with the Qur’an and Sunnah. Like an iron that is useless and does not warm up without plugging, goodwill would be useless without the Qur’an and Sunnah. Gulberenk children would never allow a deed that is not approved by Allah and Prophet Muhammed. If goodwill goes hand in hand with zeal and perseverance Allah’s mercy will surround us and peace of heaven will be brought to us. One can not do a good deed without effort and perseverance.
Whoever wishes to go to heaven she/he should work with goodwill and endless zeal. So when we were taught all these tips, we decided once more to live for the sake of Allah with goodwill, and we prayed, “Oh Allah please place us among the ones with goodwill and good deeds”.
Our program this month was again very thrilling with educators coming from Izmir, Kayseri, Ankara, Adana, Nevsehir, Zonguldak, Tarsus and Kahramanmaras provinces. Gulberenk did its best again this month with the intention of reaching the whole country and World. Through our programs we reunited with the audience coming from Istanbul and near-by cities, and refreshed our hopes and intentions. Moreover, we witnessed that with Gulberenk values are not just remembered but rather experienced. We watched Gulberenk children proceed succesfully instead of sitting still 😉 And as always, we just left for our homes without farewells.
