Dear Guests,

Gulberenk Educational Children’s Programs, prepared by Gulberenk Values Education Association, continue to be staged in Izmir on the last Sunday of each month!
Gulberenk Izmir team recently performed its twelfth program. Our July program was entitled “Plop Plop Icecream”. Through the program our tagline was “You are human, you are a Muslim! You should be reaching for Allah, you should be melting for Allah”.

Turns out everything melts. Icrecream, soap, snow, ice, butter, chocolate … health, strenght, time, opportunities, intelligence … Life, spring, autumn, wisdom … Either way everything melts away, and an ending is inevitable. The most important point here is where we used it up, and for the sake of what?

One needs to think about it: Did the icecream melt on the plate or in our palate? Did the soap melt in dirt or while were washing our hands? Did we lose our health while doing beneficial things or due to laziness? Did we use our intelligence to lay a trap or ruin a trap? Did we spend our money for the sake of evil or good will? Did we make use of our pen by writing the truth or vice versa, by writing lies and falsehood? Snow melts and it benefits the earth by increasing its waters. Ice melts too, and it gives freshness to warm water. Candles melt while lighting up darkness. Soap melts while dirt and dust escapes. Butter melts while giving great flavour to dishes. Icecream melts while the one relishing it feels a healing pleasure. Thereupon we thought in depth …

We are so beautiful; but then we are not snow. We are special; but we are not ice. We are altruists; but then we are no candles. We are clean; but then we are no soap. We are sweet; but we are no icecream. The question pops up: What are we indeed? Where do we melt? Why do we melt?
Thereby, Gulberenk songs reply:

“You are human! You are Muslim!
On the road to Heaven you give yourself away,
You do your prayers with love,
You must be walking to Allah!
You must be reaching Allah!
You must be melting for Allah!”

As you will understand, it was such a great program in which we praised and thanked Allah’s blessings, and also had fun with enjoying moments. We are grateful to Sami Kervancioglu, the owner of Kervan Patisseries, who added such great flavor to our program with his delicious ice creams. We are also thankful to educators coming from various cities like Adana, Zonguldak, Nevsehir, Sivas and Tarsus, they gave a novel touch to the whole program. At the end of the program we bought our icecreams sold for the benefit of Gulberenk and all the icecreams melted in our mouths with joy and gratitude (no, they did not melt on our plates:)
See you back next month on our Gulberenk Educational Children Program entitled “The Tailed Kite”. Keep in mind! We just left for our homes, there is no goodbye! Oh, and at the end of our final program.
