Istanbul Governorship announced that it will not allow the “Honor March” which is organized by LGBT members in Taksim on June 19-26.

In a written statement on the subject by the Governor the following is stated: “Some media outlets, websites and social media sites conducted by many LGBT members have made a call to march in Taksim from June 19th to 26th. Nevertheless, due to the priority of the security of the participants and public the governship will not permit any march or meeting on the mentioned dates. These days public order is a much urgent subject, so a meeting and demonstration march will not be allowed in this direction. Moveover, our governship has already announced in advance by law where such activities can be done.

We wish our fellow citizens of Istanbul not to pay any regard to such calls, and request them to ease the responsibility of the security power by complying with the warning to be made in this direction. We respectfully announce this warning to our public”.
