Dear Distinguished Members,
The Gulberenk Educational Children’s Program, which is a service organized by Gulberenk Values Education Association, has been staged in Istanbul on the first Saturday of August. The programs that took place in Izmir, Zonguldak and Adana on the last Sunday of August were realized with full enthusiasm.
In the program which was entitled “The Iced Sherbet” we learned that our hearts, like our bodies need relief. Turns out we should be feeling tired of doing good and beneficial things, instead of feeling exhaustion by doing things in vain. When we get tired and thirsty, we should quench our thirst with useful and healthy drinks. What a great way to refresh ourselves! Especially if there is homemade sherbet to cool us.
Not only the human body, but also the heart needs relief. The iced sherbet of the heart is prayer, patience and worship. When we are bored with something, when we face a very difficult and challenging condition, we should open our hands and pray to our beloved Allah and relax. Without prayers, patience and worshipping as a whole we will not gain relief.
Everybody gets burned from the inside sometimes. Like the orphaned children longing for their mothers and fathers, the Muslim mothers and fathers who see how their children do not practice praying, and those who have to live abroad far from their homelands.
When a fire breaks out, the firefighters save us, when our mouths dry of thirst an iced sherbet rescues us, and likewise worshipping saves us when we feel terrible pain. A Muslim with a mind always knows that prayers, patience and salah will save him/her. A mindless Muslim then, accordingly, is not even obliged top ray properly. Gulberenk Children give importance to the thirst of their bodies, as well as the thirst of their hearts. For this reason, they all learn Allah’s commandments and prohibitions.
It is probably nice to refresh others and get refreshed; however, many people do not know the value of this beauty without shrinking spiritually and/or physically. Our beloved Allah sometimes tests us with difficulties so that we can be grateful even at times without trouble.
As you will understand, we both thought a lot and had fun at Gulberenk. We both cheered up and contemplated. On the way out, we were thankful to Mother Emine while drinking her iced sherbets made from fragrant roses. We felt the generosity of our beloved Allah while resting with His bounties.
This program was the last of the 2018 – 2019 service season. Gulberenk Bees, without losing any time, have begun the preparation of the new season. We were very happy to hear that. September will be initiated with the “Meatballs in the Barbecue” program. Though we said goodbye to each other, our hearts will be together until our next meeting. We never fall apart! 🙂
