Dear Visitors,

As Gulberenk Values ​​Education Association we organize the Gulberenk “Use Your Imagination” Competition, which continues non-stop these days. Our goal to hold such a competition is to activate inert materials, that is, we give life to them. Moreover, we aim discovering and developing our capabilities, and living the joy of bringing a work to life with all its excitement. A total of nineteen precious works participated in the competition held on Wednesday, 27 May 2020 this month.

Following is the list of the artworks:

▪ A painting written “Gulberenk” made with the art of paper curling,

▪ Unworn Squares Piqué sewn with unworn trousers and an old sheet,

▪ Needle lace used as both a crown and a brooch: White Flower,

▪ Gulberenk Play House which is conceived for children,

▪ Cheerful Bee Window Decoration which is made of left-over ropes,

▪ Round Mat knitted with old combed cotton and leftover threads,

▪ Children’s Backpack created with denim fabric and remnant felt pieces,

▪ Child Mattress Protector made with fabric and bead fiber,

▪ Spring Branches designed with branches and felt pieces,

▪ The transformation of an old topcoat and skirt: Cube Candy Bag,

▪ Toy Basket made of felt,

▪ Jewelry Box produced by decorating a ready made box,

▪ Door Ornament created from leftover materials,

▪ Summer Dress, which is sewn by recycling fabrics and threads,

▪ Sewing Manikin made with leftover materials for sewing proofs,

▪ Decorative Towel Basket created with old tulle and leftover materials,

▪ Vase made of bottle,

▪ Renewed Coffee Table,

▪ Pillow with motifs.

After the sort of tug-of-war, Mrs. Mukerrem Bolukbasi won the comptetition with her Unworn Squares Piqué. She was awarded the first prize of 500 Turkish Liras by the Gulberenk Values ​​Education Association.
