Dear Distinguished Members,

Gulberenk took the stage with the program entitled “Watermelon for the Hardworking” in July. Through the program we learned that Allah instead of the lazy ones graces the ones with success and victory who works hard and puts much effort to something.

Thus, on the stage there were two symbolic fields. On the hardworking farmer’s field we could see fresh and huge watermelons. Nevertheless, on the lazy farmer’s field the watermelons were so tiny that it was almost impossible to see them. With these samples we learned, then, that if a field is not irrigated through the early dawn, wild grass not cleared away, and not offered love, gratitude, effort and comtemplation one had better not expect that much from it. Similar attitude counts for while growing watermelons, studying and even praying. What matters is even a bit, work steadily, and show goodwill and patience.

If a person wants to be a pilot, it is necessary that she/ he should put effort accordingly. Moreover, if another person wants to become a doctor, she/he should receive education from a medical school. A ceramic master’s interest area is very much different than a teacher’s. Thereby, we understood that there is need for a specific effort towards a specific goal.  What is more, a human being’s ultimate goal is to comply with our beloved Allah’s commands and prohibitions, and live accordingly. The way towards such a living can be realized with abiding by the sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad Mustafa Sallah alayhi wa sallam.

All our effort in this world is in fact to prepare us to the real afterlife. Those who want to go to the heaven should be engaged in auspicious, beneficial and good deeds, and should not be separated from the sajdaa and prayers. A non-working person would be forgotten because a lazy man or woman would never leave a beneficial piece of work or charity behind.

All of the songs, questions and plays in the program reinforced our enthusiasm for being hardworking. Gulberenk will continue to be staged free of charge on the first Saturday and Sunday of the month in Istanbul; the last Sunday of each month in Izmir, Zonguldak and Adana. Gulberenk Bees expect their rewards merely from Allah. That is, when Allah has already given us countless blessings, and while we even can not respond towards these blessings in a favorable way, then how much can we expect? Therefore, it would be better to expect His consent and forgiveness.

Now let us continue our work with such hopeful expectations and let us come to the end of this post this time. Hope to see you next month! With much love to all of you! 🙂
